Iranian general warns enemy not to make any crazy moves Tehran Times Political Desk TEHRAN -- Army Commander Major General Ataollah Salehi said here on Friday that if the bullying enemy wants to do something “crazy” it will surely be surprised by the firing power of the Iranian armed forces. “Now, Iran’s defensive abilities are incomparable to the time of the Sacred Defense (1980-88 Iran-Iraq war),” Salehi said at a ceremony held for inaugurating the new projects of army ground forces. The Iranian military has developed a new air defense system with a boosted ability to hit targets by firing two missiles simultaneously, AFP quoted Iranian state radio as saying. “This new air defense system which can shoot one or two missiles simultaneously... has been designed by army ground forces and tested successfully,” the radio said.

"That reminds me of this guy... "Shut up you minion, you [US] agent, you monkey. You are addressing Iraq," said Izzat Ibrahim, the second-in-command of Iraq's Revolutionary Command Council. - March 5, 2003, to the Kuwaiti representative of the Islamic Summit."
neoconammo :
"it's only a matter of a few years before the Government of Iran makes a big mistake and then they get to see what a real military can do."
rubenedictarnold :
"Is there a question here? I really don't see a question here. I don't want to see us get into any conflict with Iran. But I do remember Saddam proclaiming the mother of all wars. One or two missiles simultaneously? We have nuclear missiles with four or five warheads on each one. I believe they're called MIRVS? Multiple Reentry Vehicles. We have aircraft that are invisible to radar. And your missiles would never find them in order to shoot at them. You would do well to make your leaders understand that it isn't wise to taunt a wounded lion."
Bret :
"Iran will indeed be a more formidable enemy than Iraq was. They will likely take two weeks to destroy instead of one. That said (and remember I told you this, when it happens) their greatest capacity (threat to us) is their surface-to-ship missiles. But then, we will hold WAY off the cost. They will, however, sink a ship or two. Bigger yet, they will disrupt oil tankers for weeks, and sink quite a few of those. And that, sir, will be the headline news during any conflict with Iran. And they know it. The oil supply disruption via surface-to-ship missiles."
gabriell_021 :
"God damn it... i just hope nobody invades nobody... what the hell... The guys are trying to build a nuclear plant. I can't say they don't want a nuclear bomb, but I can say the program was under Russian surveillance. Nonetheless... i just hope US won't attack any other country. Everyone in the world hates us.. you go to Europe.. they hate us.. Britain, France.. Italy.. they all hate us for what we're doing to this world... Can't we just stop spending money into the army and put them in social programs such as: free college ! free university ! free medical care! They have it in Europe, why not here ?"
thequeenreigns :
"The thing is they have the armed forces to back up the mouth. The Iranian regular armed forces has an estimated 420,000 troops in three branches: Ground Forces, 350,000 troops; Navy, 18,000 sailors; and Air Force, 52,000 airmen. If you include the Revolutionary Guard they have upward of 540,000- 4 time the US forces in Iraq now. There is a saying were I am from originally. It goes like this, " when you hand is in the lion's mouth, take your time and take it out""

TEHRAN, Iran — Iran's hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Sunday said the world would witness the destruction of Israel soon, the official Islamic Republic News Agency reported. DO you think he will to do it? for more info see >

the taino boy :
"Who cares? Israel is evil."
Sick Puppy :
"No, I call his bluff."
Humanist :
"Taino Boy... You got it."
me :
"Yes. If he says it, he believes in it."
scarlettt_ohara :
"He would if he could. The Iranian people need to do something about that nut-job real fast otherwise they are all going to get hurt. We will not sit by idly and just watch Israel get wiped of the map. A few others will be going along for the ride."
caldude1010101 :
"No, Ahmadinejab cannot wipe his butt without permission from the Ayatolla."
runic111 :
"LOL Isreal would nuke them back to the stone age. I dont how ever support Isreal, just being realistic."
Staff Sergeant Dignam :
"hopefully it will be eliminated and Palestine rules again"
conranger1 :
"Define the word "soon" as used in his context, seems its been said every day since 1948 and the Israelis are still there. Its typical Ahmadinejad rhetoric to keep the ignorant masses happy, and uncomplaining. What will he do, they (Iran) have no nuclear capability to launch on Israel and to do so would be suicide for them."
cvq3842 :
"If we witness that, we will witness the destruction of several of its enemies moments later, including Iran. Look up "the Samson option.""
Dave :
"Samson defense. If Israel is about to go under, it is not going to let the Arab nations get their hands on its nuclear weapons. It will use what is referred to as the "Samson defense." in which it will pull the enemies "Temple" down as it goes down. Expect ever Arab oil field, refinery, oil shipping port and storage facility to be turned into a radioactive slag heap. Without oil, the Arab nations will quickly go down as they do not have anything else of value to sell to the world. This of course will also take down the rest of the world and thus, a good reason for them to take care of Iran before Iran tries to take out Israel...... My personal thinking, Between NOV 08 and JAN 09, Bush will take out all of Iran's nuclear assets with a B2 full of B61-11s. Publicly the world will condemn Bush, privately they will all breathe a sigh of relief.."
John T :
"You must first realize the brash untrue braggard type statements are often made by leaders in that area. (Saddam claimed he won Desert Storm and the Iran-Iraq war.) That being said, we have to take the threat seriously and I'm sure that Israel does as well. Personally, I have no doubt that he would implement a plan he believed would achieve it and I also realize that he continues to make such statements regardless of his ability to implement them because it helps keep his popularity up across the mid-east as well as in his own country. On our side of the pond, we must therefore ask how he would achieve such a thing and what we could do to prevent it or whether we'd be better served letting Israel take care of it. The most obvious answer to the first question would be through a nuclear war. He could achieve that either through his current nuclear program (over a few years/months?) or through purchase from N. Korea or possibly Pakistan. The latter being less likely unless Iran first supported a radical change of leadership there. That gives them 3 options, all of which are plausible and a threat. The more likely course is that he will support a renewed terrorist campaign in Israel and that he's drumming up support for it in the Palestinian camp. I won't get into our options, but you should consider it. Israel is an ally and we shouldn't turn our back, nor chain them to post on their defense."
crossingover :
"Israel is a nuclear power, not just one or two bombs. They would retaliate in such a fashion that Iran would no longer exist as well as the United States would have to defend and launch the destruction of Iran. I hope millions of people would not have to die because of radical and ignorant leadership"
