Hi. I urgently need help. My sister is getting married next summer but the only availible date for the venue is July 19th. Now the venue is quite near Silverstone and we are all worried that there could be races or training or something going on which would creat noise and ruin the wedding. So i was wondering if ANYONE out there knows of anything happening at silverstone on July 19th. And if anything is happening then does anyone know of any times it would happen. This would help so so so much and would probably save a day. Answers would be much appreciated LMN x x

My wife has been given corporate tickets for a box at Silverstone this weekend: I have no knowledge of motor racing in general so wondered if: 1) this event is any good, and; 2) what we can expect hospitality-wise Their web site is a bit non-specific Many thanks for your help! The link takes you to the event taking place - it is a touring car championship. Just wondered if anyone else has been to similar.
"Do you know if there is a race on? You would probably be best ringing Silverstone itself to find out what's going on as you're right, their website isn't great. I'm a HUGE F1 fan so would love to be at Silverstone this weekend - even if there wasn't a race it would be great to see the place. Have a great time!"

"I've been to Silverstone but I'm afraid I've not seen this touring car event before. The hospitality we received at the British GP was fabulous - rare beef, canopies, salmon and LOTS of bubbly. I'm sure you will have a wonderful time and, having met a few touring car drivers & fans before, the atmosphere & company will be great. Enjoy"
"BTCC - it'll be a blast. Silverstone is wet and windy. You'll want to walk around during the day rather than stick in the hospitality, so take a coat and brollie. Don't D&D, the police monitor the roads outside ( not that you shoudl D&D anyway )"
"This weekend is the final rounds of the 2006 British Touring Car Championship where the championship is still up for grabs. Touring car racing is very entertainling and there will be plenty of spins no doubt. Saturday is primarily qualifying for Sundays three races although you should get a couple of non touring car races on the Saturday afternoon. As the other posters have said, take plenty of warm and dry clothing with you in case you wish to walk around, as there is usually plenty to see. I don't think there's a pit lane walkabout on the Saturday but if you do get the chance to visit the pits take it. Above all, enjoy yourself and hopefully it will wet your apetite to come back and watch more motorsport in the future!"
"This is the BTCC saloon car British Championship and is usually good, if a little rough racing. You should also try to see the support racing. The Renault Clio series is particularly entertaining. My son and I used to race in the BTCC "package" and it was good value for the fans. Find out if someone is organising a pits walkabout for you. Hospitality depends on who is running the package and can vary from non-existent to full champagne lunches."
"lucky lucky lucky lucky you..... if you don't want to go, I'll take your place lol. I went to silverstone when I was in England a few years back just to watch testing. It didn't cost anything to get in, it was cold, rainy, and the bathrooms are NOT heated lol.... but it was a great day!!!! Have a good time."
