Discussion on River Nile

Hello! =] :

I need any information on the River Nile like what is it used for now, etc. Help! =]

renee70466 :
"The nile is just like every other major river. They still use it to transport goods and such. Google it and you will find what you need."
vanchikkuzhiyil h :

PLS TELL ME THE ORIGIN OF RIVER NILE FROM WHICH COUNTRY.

justanotherengine :
"It's "EGYPT" my wifes says that "I'm" in denile, I always ask "The river in Egypt" ?"
behnam_casillas :
"origin of river nile from egypt"
pigley :
"africa. (:"
silverbirch :
"There are two sources. The White Nile flows out of Lake Tangangyka (probably spelt wrong) in Tanzania, the Blue Nile flows from mountains in Ethiopia. The meet near Khartoum."
Just_gone :
"2 origins. Rwanda, and Ethiopia. There are two branches."
honeymay :
"river nile is in egypt...i don't know it's origin but if i am not mistakin',calendar was invented because of this river..."
argentina1989 :
"The Nile consists of two parts that flow into it. The Nlue Nile and the White Nile. The source of the White Nile is starts in Rwanda and passes through Lake Victoria and leaves it through the Ripon Falls. Then it goes through two more lakes then flows into Sudan. Many say that it actually starts in Lake Victoria. The Blue Nile starts in Ethiopia in Lake Tana in the Ethiopian highlands and then meets with the Blue Nile in Khartoum, Sudan, I hope this helps"
Sister Margaret :

Not the "Nile River"? We call the river Amazon, "Amazon River"

i-love-my-husband© :
"I am from Missouri and our rivers around here are called "The Missouri" or "The Missouri River", "The Mississippi" or "The Mississippi River". I have refered to "The Nile" as "The Nile River". I have also referred the "The Amazon" as "The Amazon River"."
pleiades :
"I believe all the Great rivers can be referred to as 'the xxxxx river' OR just ' the xxxxx' without the need to say river simply because of how famous they are. Even a later grade elementary school student knows the mississippi is a river maybe middle school for the nile or the amazon, but I would like to believe that if you said 'Nile, Mississippi, Amazon' to 1000 adults, 990 of them would know they are rivers. as for calling it 'the river nile' that's just how it was done years ago"
Rita S :
"The Nile is very well known--and it's only one thing, a river. There is nothing else with the same name. So, when you hear the word Nile, you immediately, and correctly, think of the river. (And, I have also heard of the Amazon, by the way, or the Mighty Mississippi, or the Thames, or the Columbia...)"

"Hi ya... ;-)"
