"good plans yes.. stanley market is a nioce day out, also the po lin monastery is a must, if you go to HK without seeing it is like going to new york and not seeing the statue of liberty.. Mongkok and prince edward markets are very close to each other but don't get going properly til after 3 pm each weekday My friend told me that ocean park is a much better option than disneyland symphony of lights is everynight , ask anyone..I think it starts around 7 0r 8 pm.. you should kill 2 birds with one stone, and watch the lightshow from victoria peak.. thats what we did you said that you are going to shenzhen on wednesday? you know that it's across the border into china right? I went to the history museum in Kowloon when I was there last time and it was fantastic, It was raining heavy and my friend and I went in for shelter and we stayed most of the day it was so good... aberden harbour is good as well if you want to see the people living on the boats, , and of course, don't forget a trip on the star ferry"

Anyone can advise, i am going to macau with my bf in aug...i would like to travel around Macau...places like fisherman wharf, A-ma temple, Ruins of St Paul and so many places.... 1. it is possible to book a cab for half a day??? 2. how much is the charges? 3. cab cheaper or book with travel agent??

Tracy But :
"there is cab everywhere, adn you don't need to book it for half days. it depends on where you go, but the taxi everywhere, it should cost less than USD 100 per day. i prefer cab, so you can stay as long as you want, and nobody rush you. for travel agency, it can be easily, because they arrange everything for you, and you can just join when you check in the hotel."
lecielesttriste :
"yes..you can book cabs for a day I went to xian and My papa booked a cab for a week um...it's relatively cheap and it depends on where you like to go..some times agents are better... enjoy"
NMS HKG :
"if u r just heading to the above 3 places......i mean not that far away. u could always hire a tricycle (v popular in Macau) for half day. not sure the exact charges, maybe aro $800. for taxi, cos the business in Macau is so HOT today (after all those casino opened). it's quite hard to get a taxi on the street indeed. maybe u could consider rent a car urself? it's cheap / i think like aro $600 (mins.) for a smartfortwo. c the site below:-- or u can join a tour machine..... it's just aro $150 per person 4 a 2 hrs city tour."

"It's possible to book a cab. But people normally don't do this in Macau. (It is very popular to book a cab for whole day in mainland China, but I haven't heard this in Macau.) I am sure you can book a car or a cab from your hotel. If you can communicate the cab driver, I am sure you can do this too. $100 USD for a day should be more than enough (This price should be enough for you to book a Benz from your hotel.) Renting a car is not recommanded unless you like to test your driving skill with all the MOPED. (You will know why I say so when you are in Macau.) Finding a parking is difficult too. Most people just call the cab from the street or taxi station. If there is a Taxi station that you shouldn't need to wait too long (about 10 minutes...) You are kind of needing to fight for the cab in some busy area on street (Whomever gets onto the cab first... ) This is the cheapest way and easiest way to hing around in Macau. Most trip costs less than $5 usd. I know there are tours agent in the HK & Macau ferry station, but I don't think it is necessary. Tri-cycle are one of the tourist attaction event more than an actual transportation, but you can use it to travel around the city too. Just ask clearly for the price before you ride on one."

I m going to fly from Malaysia to Macau. By the time i touched down Macau airport it will be 4.30pm. is there any way that i can reach Guangzhou on the same day? Because i have booked the hotel on the night which is the same day as i touch down Macau. By coach or taxi? Pls provide the answer as soon as possible. Because i will be leaving on this coming saturday. to Guangzhou

cmui1978 :
"Yes... It should be fine unless your flight had a huge delay. The custom between Macau and mainland China opens until mid-night. 4:30 landed 5:30 exited Macau Airport - Taxi actually should take no more than 30 minutes to reach Macau/China border. - Sometime, it is hard to find a taxi and need to wail online. (Assume 1 hour.) 6:30 reachs Macau/China custom - Usually only takes about 30 minutes, but this part really makes a lot of difference for how busy that day is, and what document you use.(Assume 1 hour.) - The bus and taxi station to Guangzhou is under a shopping mall next to the immigration. 7:30 passed China border, buy ticket, get onto the bus. 10:30 in Guangzhou. (takes about 3 hours.)"
nandadevi9 :
"Cmui is a safe bet. You could try this method though (next time perhaps...). * For Air to Ferry Travelers Travelers on their arrival at Macau International Airport should follow the sign board for the Express Bus Service and purchase tickets at the airport counters where a blue-tag will be provided to label check-in luggage. Then travelers go direct to the Air-to-Land transfer to Macau Ferry Terminal and take ferry service to their final destination thus avoiding immigration and custom procedures. Then it only remains for them to collect their luggage with blue tags at the terminal at their destination city. There is a 7pm ferry from Macau to Shenzhen (Shenzhen Airport/Ferry Terminal) arriving there at 8pm. From Shenzhen there is a high speed train (the 'Blue Arrow') that gets you up Guangzhou in an hour (But I haven't read the timetable for this). Additionally you'd be looking at a connection between the ferry terminal in Shenzhen and the railway station (getting too hard? I agree...) This is a bit 'too' uncertain to use if you are going today, but you could still ask at the Express Counter at the Macau Airport for 'advice' on the ferry transfer service and at least store the information away for next time."
