"Have you been to Downtown Disney? I've been there and it's really awesome! :D There's plently to do for all ages! It's better at night though :) The thing I like about it is that it's city like, but it's very safe! Because I know I get really scared walking about cities at night, but, Downtown Dinsey was just like walking around a theme park :)"

"One thing I have always wanted to explore is the Kennedy Space Center. It is only about 30 to 45 minutes to the east of Orlando. They have tours and museum/exhibits too. here is their website:"
godsgirl2travel :
"How about seeing Florida from a different view. Take a hot air balloon or helicopter ride. You could also take one of the air boat rides and you might come close to an alligator. There is also a bungee sling shot sorta ride at Olde Towne that will be memorable."
ShantiMaya :
"Try Key West. The drive to Key West (from Miami) is spectcular, and Key West itself is beautiful. The port was renovated, the shops and boutiques along Duval street are innovative, the art is plentiful. Kennedy Space Centre is really worth the visit, and of course Dysneyworld. In Orlando, you also have Universal Studios, which is fun. Take a drive along Worth avenue in Palm Beach, spend an evening at City Centre (West Palm Beach), walk the new Boardwalk in Lake Worth. Lots of choices! Would suggest you get the AAA guide to Florida. Another good one is the Fodor's. Enjoy!"

"Go to Old Town and do one of their bungee or flying rides..."

"What about instead of just doing the theme parks you do the tours they offer. They are long and last most of the day but are very interesting and enjoyable and most people never opt to do them because they don't know about them."

"I have two recommendations for you that you don't have listed. One is to explore Downtown Disney. They have quite a few great shops and restaurants to explore, Pleasure Island, DisneyQuest, and Cirque de soleil. We went there a couple of times when I was in Disney over Easter and had a great time. The Virgin Megastore is really cool, and the food at Fulton's Crab house was out of this world. Second I think you could explore the Kennedy Space Center. It is a short drive from Orlando and really cool seeing the NASA museum. We were lucky enough to be down there one year when the Space Shuttle was launched. I don't think that you will be able to see that anytime soon, but Space Center is something that is really neat. Also, don't discount visiting the parks. You said that you have not been there in 3 years. I made my first visit in 3 years at the beginning of April and there was a bunch of stuff at the Disney parks that I had not seen before. Sure there are the old traditional rides, but some of those have been refurbished like It's a Small World, Pirates of the Caribbean (they added Jack Sparrow and others to the ride). There is also Soarin' in Epcot, Expedition Everest in the Animal Kingdom, and the Finding Nemo stage show to name a few. Every time we visit we find so much there that is new it is amazing. Hope this helps!! Have a great trip!"

"You are pretty much going to all of them already. Just relax and enjoy Florida!!!"

SammyD :
"Your staying in a good place...There's a ton to do there...It just cost allot of $$$$$$.... Disney World which includes MGM, Epcott & Animal Kingdom), Universal, Sea World, Downtown Orlando, Busch gardens, Cocoa Beach..... Lots of places to eat and lots of things to do....It's really hot in August,so pack accordingly....Have fun!"
amysgetaways :
"Old Town, Gatorland, Seaworld, Disney, Universal, go to the beach (St. Pete-Gulf, and Cocoa-Ocean). You can get more ideas at and purchase your tickets ahead of time under the extras tab (beats waiting in line). Have fun and enjoy!"
kmbethell :
"Disney World is GREAT! That will keep you busy for a while. It is really a big place. There is also Universal Studios, that is fun also. There are lots of things there to do, it is all about what you like to do. Sea World is there also. The beach is within driving. Have fun and enjoy."
BabeHeart :
"As the first poster said, there's a wealth of things to do down there (I live in NW FL). A web search will give you some ideas of what your options are. Here's one site you can peruse... Have FUN!"
jayjay :
"Bring a lot of money!!! There are so many things to do that you can't even do half of them in your 15 days. Besides all of the Disney parks, Universal Studios, the water parks, you should try some of the themed dinner theatres - Medieval Times is a great one. Do Downtown Disney at night - go to the outlet malls, check out International Drive -"

Where's the best place or city to live in Florida??

those that really matter to you :
dragonrider707 :
"Panama city"
dotcombust007 :
tonysantiagobx :
"People are going to say their favorite cities. If you want the places to party, consider So. Florida (Miami), Tampa or Daytona. If you want to hit all of the attractions, consider Orange County (Orlando), If you want peace, nice beaches and serenity, hit Ft. Myers, Ft. Walton Beach. If you are looking for a continually growing city, hit Jacksonville."
and_y_knot :
"I like Sarasota. Gulf is gorgeous. Concerts, museums, artists and writers. Some of the Old Florida and Art Deco look. If Stephen King picked it, how bad can it be? lol"
Traveler :
"St Pete voted best in Florida for younger crowd. Within 30 minute drive tons of fun things to do. Lots of parks and still affordable prices compared to other areas. Better schools but you must watch district lines."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------There should be justice for animals hurt or killed by drunken drivers like the nurse in Palm Beach County who severely injured Cody the beautiful Border Terrier. The attorney pleaded that this nurse was a severe substance abuser and mentally ill. Guess what, the Florida nurse DC163053 is now out of prison and back to nursing after serving less than 5 years.Poor Cody will never run again, and a sweet grandmother was killed in this crash which also injured her daughter.Maybe we should look into justice for pets as well and find out how this person with 3 prior DUI's even had a standard drivers license.Thank you fellow members.

Last night one of my new Florida friends invited me to tag along with her and several others to attend a lecture presented by the Center for Spiritual Life at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg.
