Discussion on Anglesey

SundaeG1rl :

I've always wanted to go to Anglesey - just wondering if you can do it without a car (as I don't have one). Is it possible, and if so, how? I'd be going from Manchester if that helps...

vickyroad :
"Take the train to Holyhead or to Bangor on the mainland. Then you can take a bus to most places on the island."
banjet15 :
"Train to Bangor, then walk across the bridge."
proud walker :
"I know you can by train as a college friend used to travel to Dublin from East Anglia via Holyhead. See the lnk below, you can also go by National Express."
Fairy Codswallop :

Ok when you have a boiled egg, after you finish you gotta break the shell so that Witches can't use it as transportation to get back to Anglesey, why? The only Anglesey I know is a place in Wales.

l81ucky :
"i have no idea, thats a new one to me"
ok_den_ok :
"wgat is anglessey ive never heard about that"
dizzydebdeb :
"wow i have no idea.. interesting question tho"
MR. Tumnus :
"ROFL"
New yorker :
"ummmm ur question is intriguing me what is angelsey???? i know this not the answer rather a question"
krazihary :
"i'm not sure do share your answer please"
lottyjoy :
"Anglesey was the chief seat of the British Druids, the centre of learning for all those studying the ways of the Bard, Ovate and Druid. The Anglesey Order, holds the sacredness of that connection through the mists of time, and attempts to re-establish the sacred connection of tribe and land. So I guess it's an old tradition, hoping to prevent the witches from reestablishing Anglesey as their centre of operations."
susenjungle :
"I think lottyjoy is probably on a good concept here."
ichybeard :
"PML at the Americans asking "what is angelsey?" rotflmao such an educated lot. I mean, fair enough they don't know where it is, but if it starts with a capital, it is a name and therefore obviously a place. So why are they asking "what" rather than "where"? ("who"? and you could almost have forgiven them)."
M.I.K. :
"I've heard of breaking eggs to stop witches from using them as transport, but I don't recall ever hearing the reference to Anglesey before. I'd go with Lottyjoy's answer."
lobong apoy :
"they use eggs as ignition keys for their brooms"
Toby Lecter :

I don't know whether it is an urban myth or not, but I hear that there is some greenbelt land that once belonged to the Earl/Marquess of Anglesey inm Heath Hayes which is a small village in Cannock, Staffordshire and when he died, this land was left to the people - which the local Council are currently proposing to build MORE houses upon. Does anyone know if this is true or not and if so, where can I find more information on it?

MELicious :
"Sorry, no one seems to know and unfortunately I don't know either. I just hate seeing questions sit out here for days unanswered! I hope you've figured it out successfully!"
